Innovative and grungy. I imagine Culla to be working in his office while his kids run around the log cabin he built. Not one to be pinned down by the man. He lives off-grid following his favourite Canadian football team, burning the midnight oil to complete drops he has promised his fans. Wears his heart on his sleeve and will never hide his honest opinion. He paints his soul into the canvas.
One of the communities I discovered through networking and collaborating promotions on Tezos was the Culla community. Here it felt like that underground club you only went to if you were invited. Everyone was cool and had all the knowledge of the ins and outs of Tezos at that moment. You could go there, ask a question and someone would know the answer. <\/p>
I was always too shy to ask anything. I just took notes. I remember the first time I asked him a question in his DMs. I was so nervous. Need not be though. After a few words it was clear I was speaking to another human being. A father. A guy trying to make it in the world. A guy who was willing to help and answer questions if he knew the answers. Just like the community he had built up. He was accommodating.
This room (that's what discord is, a social media app, a group of rooms designed to keep like minded individuals on the same page, an upgraded WhatsApp) opened my eyes to how big the Tezos NFT and art scene really was. There were multiple rooms in here of other big collections around. If Culla and the community deemed it relevant it had a room. In the main chat should there be any major discussions, events or gossip happening in Tezos it was mentioned here and the floor was open. You could exercise your right of free speech.
Today I still recognise many names from this community. They're still around. In other projects. On twitter. Still on the scene. Waiting patiently for the next run. Accumulating art in their wallets.
In my humble opinion, Culla is the undisputed PFP king of the Tezos scene. Voids, Deemanz<\/u><\/a>, Baqunks<\/u><\/a> to name only few, all hand drawn. Then DasOccults<\/u><\/a> where he introduced us to 10000 generative pfps through code. His latest project FML (Forgot My Lambo)<\/u><\/a>, which dropped on Ethereum,\u00a0 is a beautiful mash up of generative art through coding with multiple iterations. The GIF and glitch work is Boom. His traditional art on canvas is amazing and if you ever get your hands one of those lock that up!
